Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time GI/OR Circulating Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing gastroenterology and other surgical procedures. The Circulating RN will ensure seamless communication among the surgical team, prioritize patient safety, and contribute to an efficient and positive surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care, with a focus on gastroenterology (GI) procedures and operating room (OR) support.
• Serve as the circulating nurse in surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with the surgical team, including physicians, anesthesiologists, and technologists, to facilitate efficient case flow.
• Monitor and document patient status, surgical activities, and use of instruments and supplies.
• Maintain the integrity of sterile fields and troubleshoot any issues during procedures.
• Educate patients and families about pre- and post-operative care to ensure optimal recovery.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practices and accreditation standards.

Required Skills:

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in TN.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing, with expertise in GI and/or OR settings preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong knowledge of infection control practices and surgical protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain composure under pressure.
